Welcome
The SNT has the beautiful backdrop of Brugge. I have been going to college for 3 months now learning Dutch. I am delighted to inform you that everyone on the course has now passed level 2, only 8 more to go. So many different people from different countries and cultures. Each of us with different strengths and weaknesses pushing forward together to grasp the concepts of Dutch. 'The Class' has become a big part of my life and I would like to take this opportunity to thank every student for making me feel so welcome and most of all Ina our teacher for her commitment to us all. I look forward to level 3.

STAGE 1 - PHOTOGRAPHY

Each student was photographed separately over a dark background with a studio light to one side.

STAGE 2 - MONTAGE

Each photo was sized and edited then montaged together to make one image.

STAGE 3 - RETOUCHING

Once the montage was done the overall image needed retouching and bleeding together. This included adding shadows, gradients and colour matching.

STAGE 4 - FLASH CODING

With the image finished it then needed animating with Flash, adding names of each student and buttons to interact with. I give you my Dutch Class of 2009.

What is in store for 2010? Well I wish to continue with my Dutch lessons until level 6 or 7 which is considered to be a good standard to reach. At this level I should have a good understanding of Dutch and be able to hold my own in conversation. Work always comes first but I feel it is very important to embrace the native language.
Belgium has three official languages, which are, in order from the greatest speaker population to the smallest, Dutch (sometimes colloquially referred to as Flemish), French, and German. An estimated 59% of all Belgians speak Dutch, while French is spoken by 40%. Dutch is the official language of the Flemish Region (where it is the mother tongue of about 97% of the population) and one of the two official languages -along with French- of the Brussels Capital Region.
